The Astrologer (theastrologer.world) is run by Rithora IT Services Private Limited, 413, Godota Chowk, Hodal – 121106, Haryana, India. This page describes what we collect, where it is kept, who else receives it and why. We do not sell your data, and we show no third-party advertising.
What we collect
- Your account: name, email address and phone number. Passwords are stored only as a salted one-way hash. If you sign in with Google, we also keep your Google account ID.
- Birth details (date, time and place of birth) when you save a chart, buy a report or book a service that needs them.
- Bookings and orders: what you booked or bought, the amount, and the details needed to deliver it — the name and gotra for a Sankalp, a postal address for Prasad or a shop order, a visit address for a home ritual or Vastu visit.
- Consultation chat: messages typed in a consultation room are saved with that booking. You, the Acharya and site administrators can read them. Calls are not recorded.
- Floor plans you upload for a Vastu analysis, stored on our server.
- Messages you send us through the contact form, including account-deletion requests.
What stays in your browser
- The free Kundli is calculated in your browser. Your birth details reach our server only if you save the chart or buy a report.
- A chart's share link contains the birth date, time and place in the address (not your name). Anyone you give the link to can see them.
- A birthplace is remembered on your device only if you tick “Remember this place on this device”. The last city used on the Panchang tools is remembered on your device so the page opens on it.
- Checkout details are kept in this browser tab only until the purchase completes.
Service providers that receive data
- Razorpay processes payments. It receives the order amount and reference; card, UPI and bank details are entered with Razorpay and never reach our server.
- Google Gemini writes the AI-generated text. It receives: your question to Agastya, with up to your last three questions and answers from the same open conversation so a follow-up makes sense (and, in personalized mode, facts computed from your saved chart — ascendant, current dasha periods and dosha checks); the computed contents of a paid report, withoutyour name, birth date, birth time or birthplace, to write the report's opening paragraph; a floor-plan image you ask the Vastu tool to analyse; and sign-level planetary data for the daily horoscopes. Agastya conversations are not stored by us: the conversation exists only in your open browser tab. A message that suggests you may be at risk of self-harm is not sent to Gemini at all; Agastya shows a helpline number instead.
- OpenStreetMap (Nominatim) receives the place name you type into a place search. The request is sent from our server, not from your browser.
- Google sign-in, only if you choose it.
- Google Firebase Analytics, only if you accept analytics — see “Analytics and cookies” below for exactly what it receives.
- Our email service receives your email address and the message when we send a confirmation, a password reset or a newsletter you subscribed to.
- The Acharya you book sees the booking details needed for your consultation or the report you ordered from them.
Analytics and cookies
We measure how the site is used in two ways, and only if you accept analytics. If you decline, both of these stop: no record is written and nothing is sent to Google. A third record, described at the end of this section, belongs to running your account and is not governed by this choice.
- Our own count, stored on our server. Each record holds the event name and the page path — no IP address, no account and no birth details, and nothing that ties two visits to the same person.
- Google Firebase Analytics, a third-party service. It receives a short event name (such as
page_view or checkout_started) and a page category (such as “kundli” or “checkout”), plus whether the page was English or Hindi. It does not receive the page address, the query string, your account, name, email or phone, or any birth, chart, report or payment detail. As with any Google analytics service, it gives your browser a random identifier and Google receives your IP address, which is how a returning browser is recognised. Advertising features and cross-property identity (Google Signals) are switched off. Declining means the Firebase code is never even downloaded.
Separately, and not governed by the analytics choice: if you are signed in, we record the days on which you opened a saved chart or used Agastya — your account, the date, and which of those two it was. Nothing else: no page, no time of day, no content, no birth details, and a second visit the same day adds nothing. We use it to tell whether people who save a chart come back to it. Pages you merely read are never recorded this way. This runs whether you accept or decline analytics, because it is part of operating your account rather than measuring visitors.
Cookies and similar storage:
token keeps you signed in (7 days, not readable by page scripts).analytics_consent remembers your analytics choice (1 year). You can change it with “Cookie preferences” in the footer._ga and _ga_* are set by Google Firebase Analytics to recognise a returning browser, and only after you accept analytics.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your account data while your account exists. You can ask for your account to be deleted from your dashboard (Account settings) or by writing to connect@theastrologer.world. Records we must keep for tax and accounting (payment amounts and references) are retained as the law requires.
